The Role

We’re looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join our founding engineering team and build the AI systems that power the future of compliance operations.

In this role, you’ll:

• Build multi-agent AI workflows to accelerate decision-making in compliance operations
• Develop robust safety and evaluation infrastructure for LLMs
• Design systems that users trust: with explainability, audit trails, and human-in-the-loop where needed
• Shape the future of AI infrastructure in a high-impact, high-regulation domain

This is a hands-on and strategic role where you’ll shape:

• Our core AI architecture and development practices
• The technical foundations of a high-trust, regulated AI product
• How we communicate, test, and govern intelligent automation in high-stakes environments

As a senior engineer on a small team, you'll have end-to-end ownership and the ability to directly influence product, infrastructure, and strategic direction.

What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves

• Product mindset: You think beyond the model: how the system works, how it’s used, where it fails, and how to make it safer and more useful
• Hands-on experience with AI or ML systems, whether from a data science, MLE, or applied research background
• Solid understanding and demonstrated, production-grade experience with LLMs, agents, evaluation strategies, and prompt engineering
• Experience with modern AI tooling, including orchestration and retrieval frameworks (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, DSPy), agentic or multi-agent systems (e.g. LangGraph, CrewAI, Portia AI), and vector databases (e.g. Pinecone, Weaviate). You should have enough experience to evaluate trade-offs and build with evolving stacks
• Experience with modern cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deploying AI systems in production
• Strong focus on data quality, reliability, security, and privacy
• Deep interest in AI safety, robustness, and trustworthy system design
• Ability to take ownership in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, ideally with 0→1 experience
• Comfortable building and deploying real-world AI systems with measurable outcomes
  

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in compliance, financial services, or other regulated domains
• Exposure to data engineering or data integration pipelines
• Understanding of data governance, GDPR, and security best practices
• Interest in or contributions to the AI safety, agentic AI, or reliability community
• Experience working cross-functionally with product, design, and infra teams
